The summer I worked at a diner in Tulsa, the whole week of the 4th was a disaster
We had a freezer die on Tuesday, then the AC went out Thursday, and some guy proposed to his girlfriend in the middle of a dinner rush on Friday. Anyone else have a week where everything just piled up at once?

Disagree completely. Sounds like a memorable week to me. Freezer dying means you probably got to serve some creative specials or send folks home early. AC going out builds character and everyone bonds over sweating together. That proposal sounds like free entertainment between orders. Customers that week probably tipped better out of sympathy too. Your place probably stayed busier than usual because people remembered that chaos. Sounds like a win honestly.

Funny how we see the same situation so differently. A week of broken equipment and uncomfortable guests just sounds like unnecessary stress to me, not a bonding experience.
