Bringing up anxiety during coffee breaks actually deepened a friendship.

I always avoided talking about my anxiety because in my culture, it's seen as a personal failure. When I finally mentioned it to a coworker, she shared her own experience, and we bonded over it. Is mental health a taboo topic where you live?

My friend Melissa told her coworker in Atlanta she was on anxiety meds. The guy just nodded and said his wife takes the same thing, and it was like this huge relief for her.

Wait, hold up, @jade_young68. A coworker just casually shared his wife's meds like that? That's wild to me. My office is full of people who'd just give you a weird look and change the subject. Last week someone mentioned feeling burnt out and our manager literally started talking about the weather. The fact he was so normal about it is the real shocker. More of that, please.

Can we normalize talking about mental health like this?
