Built 9 homes in Boise before I figured out I was reading my own blueprints backwards
I was marking interior walls on the wrong side of the line for almost two years, which meant every room came out about 6 inches smaller than planned. My tile guy finally asked why the hall bath never had room for a standard vanity, and that one question made me recheck every sheet in the set. Any of you ever catch a mistake that dumb after doing it right in front of you the whole time?
Color coding saved me when I did something similar with door swings. I started using a red marker on the hinge side of every opening and a blue dot where the latch lands, then walked the framed house with the plans before drywall went up. Caught three doors swinging into closets that way. Also made the tile guy check my layout lines on the first room of every job instead of the last.
