Can we talk about the 2x4 scrap trick that saved my window framing in Boise last month?
I was framing 14 windows in a custom build in Boise and kept getting the headers off by a quarter inch no matter how careful I measured. I grabbed a 2x4 scrap, cut it to the exact header height, and used it as a spacer block on both sides, and it worked way better than my tape. Now I'm wondering if this is common or if I just got lucky. Does anyone else use a scrap jig or do you trust your tape every time?
