My wife and I are finally breaking ground on our custom house this fall (aiming for October 2026), and we need a reliable contractor for the foundation excavation and running the underground utilities (sewer, water, and power). Has anyone tried CEI Excavating? They gave us a really competitive quote but I want to hear some firsthand experiences before we sign a contract.

We used them back in the spring for our new build and they were fantastic. The grading was spot on, and they handled all the storm drainage without any hiccups. The inspector even complimented how clean the utility trenches were. Definitely recommend them.
Seconding this! They did the foundation dig and grading for our property. The crew showed up exactly when they said they would, which is honestly half the battle with contractors these days. You'll be in good hands.
