My builder pushed spray foam on our Madison house, but the $3,800 blown-in cellulose is holding up better after two winters
Everyone in our neighborhood Facebook group swears spray foam is the only way to go, but when we built in Madison two years back our builder ran the numbers and blown-in cellulose came in $3,800 cheaper for the same R-value. Our January heating bills have been within $15 of our neighbor's foam house, and his attic still has hot spots he's chasing. Anyone else skip the fancy stuff and end up happy they did?
