My home network went down for a whole day because of a simple router setting
I thought my internet was just being slow, but then everything stopped. I spent about 8 hours checking cables and calling my provider before I found the problem. The default admin password on my Netgear router was still the factory one, and someone had gotten in and changed the DNS settings. Has anyone else had their home router messed with like this?

Are you sure it wasn't just a weird glitch that fixed itself?

Honestly that sounds pretty wild. I mean, how many people even know how to change DNS settings on a random router? Could it have been some kind of weird update from the ISP that just looked wrong? Maybe the router just freaked out and reset some stuff on its own. Idk, it just seems like a huge hassle for someone to do for no real reason.
