Vent: 2FA app saved my account but I almost lost everything first

Last Tuesday I logged into my email and saw 12 failed login attempts from Brazil. I thought my password was fine since it was 14 characters, but then I realized I never turned on two-factor auth for that account. My cousin got locked out of his bank account last year for the same reason. I spent 20 minutes setting up an authenticator app and now I wonder why I waited so long. Anyone else put off 2FA until something sketchy actually happened?

Ugh, tell me about it! Better late than never, right?

Hey @tara700, "better late than never" is usually right, but not always. If your package was supposed to be there by Friday and it shows up Tuesday, that's one thing. But if someone says "late" and it's actually three weeks overdue, that's a whole different story. I've had stuff "arrive late" that was basically lost in transit and repackaged by accident. So I'd say it's more like "better late than never, unless it's way too late, then you might as well just get a refund." Just being real about it.
