Hot take: I thanked a guy who called my politics wrong, and it actually worked
Three weeks ago at a city council meeting in Boise, a guy named Rick stood up and said my views on the housing plan were "naive and reckless." I wanted to fire back, but instead I walked over after and asked him which part he disagreed with most. We ended up talking for 40 minutes outside the library, and he loaned me a 2019 report I had never read. I still think he is wrong on the zoning part, but I changed my mind on one thing he brought up. Has anyone else had a fight turn into a real talk just by asking a question instead of arguing?
