Why won't anyone admit the hail in Denver got way worse in just 5 years?
I've lived in my house near Sloan's Lake since 2011 and I swear the storms changed around 2019. Used to be maybe one bad hail event a summer, now it's three or four and they're bigger. My roof lasted 18 years before the first replacement. That new roof? Beat to hell in 6 years, insurance paid out last spring and the adjuster didn't even blink, said he was writing claims like mine all day in 80211. Two neighbors on my block just did theirs again too. My gutters look like someone took a hammer to them and my truck has dents I stopped counting. I'm not crazy right, has anyone else here seen their insurance deductible or rates jump since the storms got worse? What are you all doing to protect your roofs besides praying?
Watched my neighbor get a new roof in 2017 and thought he was just unlucky. Then we got hit three summers in a row and mine was toast too. I always figured hail was random, some years bad, some years fine, but the pattern since 2019 is hard to ignore. My insurance agent flat out told me rates in our zip went up because of claim volume, and that was the moment I stopped rolling my eyes at these posts. Now I check the forecast like a hawk and park the truck in the garage even when it looks clear. You are not crazy, the math on deductibles does not lie.
