Just found out the city of Detroit has a free business mentorship program I never knew about

I was scrolling through the city's website last night looking for permit info and stumbled on this thing called the Motor City Match program. Turns out they offer free one-on-one coaching for small biz owners plus help with finding commercial space. I've been paying $200 a month for a business consultant who barely returns my emails lol. The program has been around since 2015 apparently and I had no clue. I called the number this morning and got connected to a real person in under 5 minutes. Has anyone here actually used their services or know if it's worth the time?

My sister used one of those consultant programs through Motor City Match back in 2019 and it actually got her a storefront in Eastern Market within six months... she was paying $200 a month for the consultant but they helped her avoid a bad lease that would've cost way more. I get that not everyone has a good experience but it's a free program if you can do the legwork yourself. The consultant fee thing is optional, not mandatory, so your friend could've just used the main grant process without paying extra.
