My $300 thermal camera finally paid off on a stubborn coolant leak
I bought it for electrical work, but it showed a tiny temp difference on a lower radiator hose that I never would've felt by hand. Anyone have a go-to method for those slow seeps that doesn't involve dye?

Used to think those were a gimmick, but that's pretty convincing.

Okay, now I feel dumb for spending an hour last week feeling every inch of a hose with my cheek like some kind of weird car mechanic. The thermal camera is genius. I always just wait for the drip to hit the ground and then play the world's worst game of hide and seek with a flashlight. That tiny temp difference is something you'd totally miss by hand. Guess my face isn't as sensitive as a three hundred dollar sensor. What's the weirdest place you've found a leak with that thing?
