Was sure that new fuel additive was just snake oil
Tried it in a stubborn 6.7 Powerstroke that was knocking like crazy... and the noise was gone after about 20 miles of driving. Has anyone else had a good result with a product they didn't trust at first?

Man, I know that feeling. I put some stop-leak in my old truck's radiator as a last ditch thing before replacing it. Totally thought it was a scam, but it bought me another six months. Sometimes the cheap fix actually works.

Honestly @eva_rivera49 that stop-leak stuff is a lifesaver. I had a tiny crack in my plastic coolant tank on my Civic. A bottle of that powder stuff for like eight bucks sealed it right up. Tbh I drove it for two more years like that. We get told to replace everything now, but sometimes the simple hack is all you need.

Isn't it funny how we write off so many simple fixes as junk before even trying them? I've seen it with everything from that fuel stuff to a weird tape that fixed a leaky hose. We get so used to big, expensive repairs that a cheap solution feels like a lie. It makes you wonder what else we're missing because we assume it won't work.
