I got a 7-day ban on a big platform for quoting a news headline verbatim
The headline was from the BBC about a protest, and my comment was just the quote with 'this is wild' added. Has anyone else had a post removed for just sharing a factual quote?

Quoting a headline isn't always just sharing a fact, is it? The context of where you post it matters. Platforms have rules about what kind of content they allow, even if it's a quote.

Did you catch that news about the Australian court ruling on platform censorship last month? It basically said quoting something can still break the rules depending on where and why you post it. So even if you're just repeating a headline, the platform can still pull it down if they think it's causing trouble.
