One DM from Nigeria changed how I think about shadowbans
I was complaining about my gardening channel views dropping after the election posts, and a stranger messaged me. She said her cooking page got the same treatment in Lagos, 3 weeks of zero reach, no warning, no appeal button. We compared screenshots and our post timestamps matched a known moderation wave. Has anyone else gotten direct notes from people in other countries about identical censor patterns?
Man, come on. Two people with two random pages getting low views at the same time is not some big global plot, that is just how these sites work. Reach drops all the time for reasons nobody ever explains, and there are millions of people posting every single day, so of course you can find someone somewhere whose bad week lines up with yours. Screenshots and matching timestamps feel like proof but that is literally what a coincidence looks like when you go hunting for it. Nigeria is not special here either, people in every country think they got hit by the same invisible wave because the feeling of getting no views is the same everywhere. If there was a real moderation wave tied to election posts, you would see way more than one DM backing it up. Not saying nothing ever gets hidden, but this sounds like a regular slump dressed up as a conspiracy.
