inThat gardening forum in Portland banned me for saying their compost ratio advice was wrong
Portland gardening forums are some of the most gatekeepy places I've ever seen. I told them my tomatoes did fine with a 20:1 mix and they acted like I kicked their dog. Rules are nice but not when your pile is literally smoking.

inHostels in 2019 vs. co-living spaces now - the vibe shift is real
Huh, wait. Is it really sharecropping though? Sharecropping was about people being forced to work someone else's land and getting screwed over. On these platforms we're choosing to post our stuff for free. I mean yeah the companies make money off our content and we get nothing, but nobody's forcing us to be here. It's more like we're all just volunteering our work for a corporation's profit.

inLearned a trick to clear cutterhead clogs way faster
Reversing the swing angle works. I do that exact trick on my machine.

inThe amount of people who still don't set their UCS to 'World' before exporting to PDF is genuinely baffling.
Ngl, the system problem thing makes sense because if the basic steps were faster nobody would bother with weird shortcuts in the first place.

inSwitching to a Kanban board cut our meeting time by 40% at my warehouse in Portland
40% drop in meeting time is wild though, I gotta admit I'm a little skeptical at first. I mean a whiteboard with sticky notes sounds way too simple to cut that much time, but I guess if nobody was updating a spreadsheet then the physical board forces people to look at it. I bet the break room location is key too since everyone walks past it every day.
