I spent 2 years thinking coworking spaces were a waste of money.

Turns out I was just picking the wrong ones. Last month I tried one in Medellin with a solid community manager and actually made 3 client connections in one week. Anyone else avoid coworking then realize it's all about the specific spot?

lol @ericfox I feel you but honestly it's not that deep. like yeah coworking spots can be hit or miss but spending two years avoiding them because you had a couple bad ones is wild to me. most of the people who complain about them are the same ones who expect to walk in and instantly land clients without putting in any effort themselves. the community manager can only do so much, you still gotta actually talk to people and not just sit in the corner with headphones on. I've been to probably a dozen different coworking spots over the years and only two of them were actually terrible, the rest were fine if you treat them like what they are, just a place to work around other people.

Nah, I'm still on the other side of this. Tried three different coworking spots over the past year and all of them were basically just expensive libraries with worse wifi. You got lucky with that Medellin spot, most community managers are just trying to sell day passes, not actually connect people. The whole "pay to work around strangers" thing is just not for me.
