Just realized coworking spaces aren't always cheaper than cafes

I tried a coworking space in Medellin for a month, paid $150 for a desk. Thought it would save money on coffee and snacks from cafes. But I ended up buying way more lunch orders nearby because the kitchen was tiny. Learned that my old cafe habit actually cost less per week, even with buying coffee. Has anyone else found coworking spaces aren't always the budget win they seem?

Notice how everything's getting marketed as the "smart money move" when it's rarely that simple.

Oh totally, I used to be one of those people who thought coworking spaces were the obvious smarter choice money wise. But I had the same experience you did last year when I tried one for a few weeks. The cost of buying lunch every day because I couldn't cook there blew my budget way more than I expected. It really changed my mind about which option is actually cheaper in the long run, especially when you factor in that you're buying food you wouldn't normally get.
