Local barista in Medellin told me my 'office' setup was scaring customers away

He pointed at my giant monitor and cables sprawled across the cafe table, said it made me look like I was running a server room, and now I keep everything in a small backpack and only use my tablet at coffee shops, anyone else had to adjust their gear for a specific space?

I get what the barista was saying but honestly "looking like a server room" sounds like an exaggeration. I bring my 15 inch laptop and a portable monitor to coffee shops all the time and nobody has ever said a word to me about it. If you keep your cables tidy with a velcro strap and don't spread out like you're claiming the whole table, most people won't even notice your gear. Maybe the issue was more about how you had your stuff laid out rather than the gear itself.
