TIL my bank froze my card from Chiang Mai because I forgot to set a travel notice, and I ate rice crackers for 2 days
The freeze hit on a Saturday, my backup card was in a drawer back in Austin, and the bank's hotline only opened Monday at 8am their time, so the fix was walking 40 minutes to a currency exchange near Tha Phae Gate with my passport and $60 in cash I'd stashed in my sock, and I'm wondering if anyone here splits their money across three different accounts or if that's just me being paranoid.
