Watched a court hearing in person last Tuesday and noticed how much the lawyers relied on their paralegals

I sat in on a civil case at the county courthouse in Cleveland and was surprised how often the attorneys would whisper to their assistants during testimony. One lawyer even had a paralegal hand him a specific binder with tabs mid-questioning. Has anyone else noticed how much prep work actually happens live in the courtroom?

Had to pick between lightweight compound and all-purpose for a ceiling repair

I went with the lightweight stuff cause I figured it'd be easier on my shoulders after a long week... but man, it shrunk way more than I expected on the second coat. Anybody else run into this or is it just me?

So last week I had a client with overprocessed blonde hair, and I figured I'd try that Olaplex knockoff from Sally's. Mixed it in with her color like the instructions said. After rinsing and drying, her ends felt like straw. I mean, it was way more brittle than when she walked in. I ended up doing a deep conditioning mask and cut off a half inch just to save the look. Has anyone else had this happen with bond builders or is it just me?

Blew a valve on a sat dive last month and it took 4 hours to fix something I thought was 20 minutes

Tbh I got complacent. We were doing hull cleaning at the port in Norfolk and I noticed my pneumo fader was acting weird on descent. I figured it was just a loose fitting so I told topside I'd be up in 20 to swap it. Turns out the whole valve assembly inside the helmet had a hairline crack and I had to rip apart my Kirby Morgan on deck while the current was picking up. Took me 4 hours to find the right o-ring kit and get it sealed again. Has anyone else had a simple fix turn into a half day disaster?

Heard a kid call snow "noise" and it hit me different

I was at the gas station in Fairbanks last week and this teenager on the phone said the snow was making too much "noise" outside, like it was annoying him or something. Made me remember when I was his age and a -40 cold snap meant you just stayed home and didn't complain about it. Do you think folks moving up here now see winter more as an inconvenience than just part of life?
