DAE think dropping the full album at once kills the DJ set flow, not helps it?
I put out a 9 track record in November and watched a friend in Berlin play all 9 in one set, and the room sat down around track 6 because nobody had a reason to wait for anything. Splitting D11-04 into 3 singles over 5 months got me booked at 2 clubs in Mexico City that never replied to my full length links. Do you all really think dumping everything on day one beats letting a crowd learn the tracks one at a time?
Three singles over five months means a DJ in Mexico City has six weeks to learn one track cold before the next lands, and by the time the full record drops it already feels like a greatest hits set. Nine at once just gives them a folder to scroll past.
