Dropped $260 on a used Rane TTM 56 mixer off a guy in San Salvador and it hummed so loud my whole set was ruined
Sold as 'studio kept, barely used' but the crossfader bled on every channel and I only found out mid set at a bar in Escalón when the crowd heard two tracks at once, so now I want to know if anyone here tests gear before paying cash or do you all just gamble like I did?
Bleeding crossfaders usually mean the fader's just worn out, not that the whole mixer is shot. A replacement fader for a TTM 56 is like 40 bucks and takes ten minutes to swap, so you might not be out the full 260. Still sucks that dude lied about it being barely used though, that part's on him.
