I keep hearing people layer kicks wrong in their mixes
Working on my D11-04 follow up and I've noticed a lot of local DJs in San Salvador stack two or three kick samples without checking the phase. That just makes the low end muddy and weak. Last week I showed a friend how to flip the phase on one layer and his kick punched way harder. Why does everyone skip the correlation meter or just rely on their ears for something this basic? Has anyone else hit this wall in their own tracks?
