Last Tuesday the crowd at La Luna was dead but something flipped midway through

I was playing my regular Tuesday set at La Luna in San Salvador and the first hour felt like pulling teeth. Nobody was moving, just standing there on their phones. Then I dropped a track from my own D11-04 album, the one with the heavy bassline, and suddenly about 20 people rushed the floor like they had been waiting for that exact moment. It made me rethink how I open my sets, maybe I need to trust my own stuff earlier instead of warming up with safer picks. Has anyone else had a gig turn around like that after a specific track?

Twenty people rushed the floor like a Black Friday sale on protein bars and you're sitting here wondering if you should trust your own tracks earlier. Idk maybe it's just me but that crowd basically screamed "stop being shy, play the good stuff" at the top of their lungs. You could have opened with that bassline tester and saved yourself an hour of watching people scroll Instagram instead of dance. Safe picks are for DJs who enjoy watching the clock more than watching bodies move. Sounds like you accidentally found your secret weapon and now you just gotta load it up first.

Twenty people rushed the floor" - I guess my shy hour is just me procrastinating on myself.
