Vent: A guy told me my kicks were fake, and it made me rethink my whole setup
So I was playing a set at this small club in San Salvador last month, and this random dude comes up to me after and says 'yo, those kicks are fake, right?' I was wearing some old Air Maxes I've had for like 5 years, beat to hell but comfy. At first I got defensive, but then he showed me his phone with a comparison pic and pointed out the stitching was off. I felt like an idiot, not gonna lie. I went home and looked at all my shoes, and turns out three pairs I bought off a Facebook marketplace guy were knockoffs. I tossed them and now I only buy from a legit store downtown, even if it costs more. Cost me about $60 extra per pair, but at least I don't have to wonder anymore. Has anyone else gotten called out like that and had to swap their whole gear game?

Walked into a record shop in Austin last year wearing some vintage Reeboks I swore were legit and some kid working the register just laughed. Pulled out his phone and showed me how the logo was crooked. Felt like a clown. I get it, @willow_ellis, Facebook Marketplace is a gamble but sometimes you think you scored a deal. Thing is, once you know, you cant unsee it. I gave away all my suspicious pairs to goodwill and started sticking to a single sneaker shop in town too. Peace of mind is worth the extra cash.

Wait, Facebook Marketplace?! Dude, that's risky. I'd never buy shoes off some random reseller app.
