I finally replaced my 15 year old drill with a brushless one and wow what a difference

My old cordless drill from 2009 finally gave up after I dropped it off a ladder last week. Got a new brushless one on sale for $80 at the hardware store. First thing I noticed was how much lighter it is. Second thing was the battery lasted through a whole weekend of building a deck without needing a charge. My old one would have died after like 2 hours. Anyone else made the switch and notice a big difference?

Heard someone say brushless motors are basically witchcraft compared to the old brushed ones.

Oh man, I swear my first RC car with a brushed motor felt like a 80 year old lawnmower engine strapped to a toy. Then I tried a brushless setup and it was like someone replaced the motor with a angry swarm of bees on Red Bull. I mean, it's not actually magic but the efficiency difference is wild - no brushes wearing out, way more torque, and they just keep going forever. Still kinda feels like cheating though.
