Trusted a YouTube guru on drywall mud, wrecked my garage wall
Some guy with 200k subs said hot mud needs no primer if you use setting type. I tried it on a patch in my garage last Tuesday, now it's peeling like sunburned skin. Anyone else find out the hard way that you still gotta prime before paint?

My buddy Phil did the exact same thing last spring. His shed wall looked like a reptile shedding after two weeks. He had to scrape it all off and redo it with regular mud plus primer. Took him a whole weekend to fix his own shortcut.
