Noticed a clever drywall trick at a Habitat for Humanity build in Wichita

I volunteered at a Habitat build last Saturday and this one older guy was hanging drywall on a ceiling by himself, no lift or anything. He used a 2x4 with a notch cut in the end to prop the board up while he screwed it in, took him half the time I would've guessed. Has anyone else seen a homemade tool like that that just makes you rethink your whole setup?

My buddy tried that once and ended up with drywall dust in his eye for a week.
