Spent 6 hours patching drywall, turns out my tape was upside down
Honestly, I thought I had the whole mudding thing down until I kept getting these weird bubbles no matter how many coats I threw on. After 6 hours in my garage in Austin, I finally noticed the mesh tape had a smooth side and a rough side, and I'd been putting the rough side against the wall the whole time. Ngl, I felt like an idiot but also kinda proud I figured it out before just covering it with texture. Has anyone else wasted a full day on a trick that took 30 seconds to fix once you knew the secret?
