Can we talk about how detailed assembly drawings should be? I used to pack them with info, but seeing them in action made me cut back. Where do you stand?

Oh man, the most wild thing I saw was a drawing where someone removed all the basic measurements. Like, the main lengths for cutting parts were just gone. I had to dig through like three other pages to even start. I mean how does that help anyone on the floor? It just makes everyone mad and wastes a ton of time. Keep the key info right there, the other stuff can go somewhere else.

Yeah, digging through pages like that is the worst. I once had a wiring diagram where the connector pin numbers were only listed in a separate legend sheet, not on the actual drawing. We hooked up a whole control panel wrong before realizing the mix-up. It cost us half a day to redo all the terminations. Who makes these choices? Just put the critical numbers on the drawing itself so we can work fast and right.

Ugh, I once spent an hour looking for a hidden note that just said "see page 12" (it was blank).
