Can we talk about how detailed assembly drawings should be? I used to pack them with info, but seeing them in action made me cut back. Where do you stand?

Oh man, the most wild thing I saw was a drawing where someone removed all the basic measurements. Like, the main lengths for cutting parts were just gone. I had to dig through like three other pages to even start. I mean how does that help anyone on the floor? It just makes everyone mad and wastes a ton of time. Keep the key info right there, the other stuff can go somewhere else.

Thinking back on drywall glue methods from my early years

See, @sarahm19 I get where you're coming from, but I still keep a couple buckets around for smaller jobs. The tubes are great for big stuff, sure, but they feel like overkill sometimes and they're not exactly cheap. Idk, maybe it's just me but I still find a bucket is faster to grab and mix in for a quick patch. It hasn't totally won me over yet.

After building my kid's bed, I'm done with pocket screws for good

My buddy Steve built a bookshelf last year using pocket screws everywhere. It felt solid at first, but after like six months, every time you touched it, it sounded like a haunted house. He ended up taking it all apart and redoing the joints with dados and rabbets. Said it was a huge pain, but now the thing is dead quiet and doesn't wobble even a bit. Really changed how he builds anything that needs to carry a load.

I finally sorted my box of spare parts from the early 2000s.

Remember when my buddy tried to upgrade his ancient PC? He spent way too much on an old AGP card, like that one @gavin_johnson70 mentioned. Some people really want to keep that old stuff running!
