I thought my layer naming system was fine until a project blew up last week
For years I just named layers 'Layer 1', 'Layer 2', etc., thinking I could keep it all in my head. Last Thursday, I had to hand off a big set of structural plans for a warehouse in Phoenix to another drafter because I got sick. Came back to a total mess, he had no clue what anything was and it took him a full day just to figure out my file. My boss flat out said 'This is costing us money.' Now I'm rebuilding everything with clear names like 'A-WALL-EXTERIOR' and 'S-COLUMN-GRID'. Has anyone else had to completely re-learn their basic file setup after a wake-up call?

Wasn't there a whole article about how bad layer names waste millions in man-hours? Your boss is right, it's a real cost thing. Good on you for fixing it now.

Yeah @martin.vera is spot on, those costs add up fast across every project. Clear naming is just basic teamwork now.
