That $20 triangle scale I almost passed on ended up saving me hours

Tbh I always thought those old-school triangular scales were just for architects and nobody in drafting actually needed one anymore. Last week I was laying out a weird angled wall in a basement remodel near Oak Park and kept messing up the conversions on my tablet. Grabbed a plastic scale from the supply closet just to try it and I finished the layout in half the time. Has anyone else found a physical tool that just works better than the digital version in certain situations?

Yeah I was the same way honestly. Thought physical scales were totally obsolete once I got good with my tablet. Then I had to measure out a bunch of tricky angles on a old house and the digital stuff just kept throwing weird decimal readings. Picked up a cheap plastic scale from the hardware store and it was way faster to just flip it over and read the marks directly. Sometimes the old stuff just gets out of your way and lets you work.

@spencer_moore39 man I feel you on that. There's something about a simple tool that just works without any fuss, especially when you're in the middle of something and don't wanna fight with the tech.
