Scoring tape back helped with archway curves
I was putting up drywall around an arch and the tape bubbled. I scored the tape's back with a knife before applying. It stuck flat and followed the curve nicely. The mud went on without issues. A simple trick that saved me a lot of trouble.

That's the only way I've ever gotten tape to work on tight curves. Did the same thing on a rounded wall corner last month and it finally laid flat. Such a simple fix for a super annoying problem.

Oh nice, that hose trick is smart! Wonder if it works on weird stuff like bike handlebars too?

Did you ever try that slit method on something weird like a garden hose repair? I had to seal a split hose with electrical tape and cutting notches helped it stick to the round shape. Looked ugly but got me through the season.
