That rental agreement clause about pets got me evicted anyway
I moved into a place in Edmonton last January that said cats were okay with a $300 deposit. Paid it, got it in writing, thought I was covered. Then the landlord hit me with a notice saying the condo board banned all pets retroactively, and there was some fine print about "board rules override" that I missed. Has anyone else run into this where the lease says one thing but some hidden clause trumps it?

That "board rules override" clause got me too, learned that lesson the hard way.

Man that's rough, I feel for you. Those hidden clauses that override the actual lease are such a dirty trick, it's like you're signing one thing and getting something totally different. Hope you landed on your feet after that mess.
