Had to choose between Knob and Tube replacement or a partial rewire on a 1920s house in Portland

I bid a job last month on a house in the Irvington district. Owner wanted to keep costs down so I had to pick between ripping out all the old cloth wiring or just patching in new runs where it was really bad. I went with the partial rewire because the panel and main feeds were already updated in 2018. Now I'm worried about hidden splices in the walls down the road. Has anyone else dealt with callbacks from a partial rewire on old homes?

Are you leaving junction boxes accessible for those hidden splices, or just crossing your fingers? I've seen partial rewires turn into nightmares when someone buries a connection behind lath and plaster. Getting a solid map of what's old and what's new before you button everything up might save you a callback.

Nope. Those 2018 feeds make partial rewire the right call here.
