Remember when they closed the branch near my old apartment? My friend used to take her kid there for story time every week. She said the worst part was watching the librarians pack up decades of books into boxes, like a funeral for the whole neighborhood. That building just sits empty now, with papers blowing around the parking lot. It feels like we lost way more than just some shelves.
