Just realized my worst work day in years was because of a single meeting

Two days ago, I had a project review with my boss, Sarah, and a client from Chicago. I had prepped for five hours, but Sarah took over and changed the whole plan in front of them without telling me. It made me look totally unprepared and the client asked me three times to clarify basic points. Has anyone else had a boss undermine them like that, and how did you handle it?

Saw a wild cabinet design at a hotel in Nashville

I was staying at a hotel downtown last week and the built-in bar cabinet in the lobby caught my eye. The doors had this crazy curved glass front, like a big bubble, set into walnut frames. It looked cool but all I could think about was the nightmare of fitting that glass and keeping the doors from sagging. Has anyone here ever built something with curved glass panels before? How did you handle the joinery?

Unpopular opinion: I paid for a month of that new 'CineStream' service just for their original show and it was a total dud.

Ugh, been there. I just cancel after the first bad show now (learned my lesson the hard way). Honestly, I've had way better luck just renting single movies online when I'm picky.

I taught my 7-year-old to play Scythe and it didn't go how I thought

Wow, that's awesome. My nephew asked to try chess once and I figured I'd just show him how the pieces move. Kid checkmated me in like ten moves. Felt my whole ego deflate. They just see the board differently, no overthinking. Sounds like your daughter's got that same kind of sharp mind. Makes you wonder who's really teaching who.
