Our library's privacy workshop had more attendees than the yoga class
I saw a flyer for a basic encryption talk at the local library last month. To my surprise, the room was full of regular folks, not just tech types. They covered simple stuff like setting up secure messaging on phones. One older couple was taking notes on how to use a VPN for their travels. It's a small change, but seeing everyday people care about this stuff feels like progress. I guess the constant news about data breaches is finally sinking in. Next step, getting them to understand why laws matter too.

Seeing that workshop packed with everyday folks gives me HOPE. For years it felt like only tech nerds cared about this stuff. Now with all the data breaches, people are FINALLY waking up. I've had similar chats with my neighbors about using better passwords. It's a slow shift, but it's happening. We all need to protect ourselves out here.

Overheard two guys discussing password managers at the car wash last week.

Wow, i used to think they were overkill, but hearing strangers talk about them changed my mind.
