Signal went dark on me mid-chat last night in Cairo and I learned a harsh lesson about backup encryption apps.

I was coordinating a protest route with a local organizer and the app just stopped sending messages for 45 minutes - has anyone else had Signal drop out on them during a sensitive conversation in a strict country?

I used to think I was paranoid" is a phrase that always gets me. But honestly, I think paranoid is the wrong word for it now. It's more like we're just paying attention to what's actually happening.
