Went to a coworking space in Austin and the networking felt fake

Visited Common Desk downtown last Tuesday. Everyone was just name-dropping and handing out cards. Nobody actually listened to what I said about my business. Spent 45 minutes talking to a guy who kept looking at his watch. Got one real lead from the janitor actually. He told me about a local supplier I never heard of. Has anyone found a coworking spot that actually feels genuine?

The janitor knew more about local business than the IT startup guys.

@Sarahh48 nailed it honestly. The janitor probably knows the actual heartbeat of that building for sure. I had a similar thing at a WeWork in Houston where the cleaning lady gave me better insider tips on local restaurants for catering than any "entrepreneur" did. It's wild how the people working behind the scenes often have the most genuine connections.
