A dye mix-up gave me the perfect sunset shade for a skirt
I was testing some fabric dyes (a total mess at first). By chance, I mixed orange and pink, and it created this warm coral color. It reminds me of summer sunsets, so I'm sketching a flowy skirt around it. Such a lucky mistake!

For that coral, try a 2:1 orange to pink ratio next time for consistency.

Mixing colors is so tricky, I always struggle with getting it just right. Solid tip from @emeryfox.

Yeah, that ratio is a solid starting point. I was reading this artist's blog last week, and she said the exact same thing, that getting a repeatable coral is all about nailing the base mix before you even touch the canvas. Elizabeth_mason28 is totally right about it being tricky though, because what they call "orange" and "pink" can be so different between brands. You really have to stick with one paint line once you find a mix you like, or the 2:1 thing goes out the window.
