PSA: I solved my jacket zipper problem with a wax candle trick

I have this favorite denim jacket from a thrift store in Portland, but the zipper kept getting stuck about halfway up. After three months of fighting with it, I tried rubbing a plain white candle along both sides of the zipper teeth. Worked perfectly on the first try and has been smooth ever since. Has anyone else found a weird fix for a specific clothing problem like this?

Got my old army surplus parka zipper stuck so bad one time I almost just cut the thing off with scissors. Tried the candle trick a buddy told me about and it worked like magic. I actually keep a little nub of candle in my coat pocket now just in case it ever starts acting up again. Also learned that rubbing a bar of soap on a zipper works in a pinch if you dont have a candle handy but the wax lasts way longer.

@daniel552 the soap trick saved me on a camping trip last fall, works better than I expected.
