I finally chose to float a glue-down vinyl plank job last week
Had a 500 square foot kitchen and living room with a concrete slab that wasn't perfectly flat. The choice was to spend two days grinding and patching for a true glue-down, or just float a click-lock system over a premium underlayment. I went with the float, using a 3mm cork underlayment. Finished the whole thing in a day and a half, and the homeowner is thrilled with how solid it feels. Honestly, it saved my back and their timeline. Anyone else had a similar call on a slab that was just a little off?
