Just realized old family letters held a missing piece of our city's story.
I found a box of my mom's letters from the 1980s talking about protests that never made the news. I cross checked dates with library microfilm to confirm the events were left out. What's a good way to document this kind of hidden history so it doesn't fade away?

That's a really important find. It's tough when local history gets overlooked like that.

What about scanning everything and sharing it online? Start by digitizing the letters and any photos you have. Upload them to a public site like the Internet Archive so anyone can access them. Reach out to your city's historical society or local library, they sometimes have community history projects. You could even make a simple website or blog to tell the full story. Keeping it digital means it won't get lost or forgotten over time.

Tried that once, my scanned family photos now live in a folder called "misc stuff 3".
