PSA: My client stopped replying after I sent the final work
Finished a website build last week and now radio silence on the invoice. What's your go to move when this happens? I need the money to cover rent.

Why do people never value a thing once they have it in hand? I see this everywhere, from borrowed tools to finished projects like yours. The bill suddenly becomes invisible once their immediate need is met.

Look, sometimes the thing just wasn't that important to begin with. The urgency was real in the moment, but that need passed. Calling it a lack of value is wrong, it's more like the situation changed. They got what they needed from it when they needed it, and holding onto that feeling after the fact isn't how people work. The bill feels invisible because the high-stakes problem it solved is already gone.

See this pattern all the time with borrowed stuff too. Lend someone your lawnmower or a power tool, and getting it back becomes a whole thing. They needed it right then, but once their grass is cut, your property isn't a priority. Your finished website is the same deal to them. Their emergency is over, so paying for the fix feels optional. It turns a business deal into a favor they can ignore.
