Vent: My smart scale argued with me over banana weight

I bought this digital kitchen scale after reading how accurate it was. Tried to weigh a banana for a smoothie recipe. The screen kept flashing different numbers like it was confused. Ended up with a lumpy drink because I gave up and guessed. So much for trusting gadget reviews without testing things myself.

Oh man, that scale was having a full on existential crisis over a piece of fruit. Maybe it thought the banana was judging its life choices. Next time just tell it the weight you want and see if it gives in, worked with my old bathroom scale.

Actually, those scales are usually spot on if you set them up right. Could be the fruit was moving or the surface wasn't level.

Wondering if we're overthinking kitchen scales here. Most recipes work fine even if your berries are off by a few grams. You'd need to be making fancy pastry or something to really need that level of exact weight. For everyday meal prep, close enough is usually good enough.
