Compared free speech laws in the US and Germany and changed my mind

I used to think Germany's hate speech laws were too strict, but after reading about how a Nazi propaganda site was allowed to run in the US for years, I saw the value in their approach. Has anyone else found a foreign law that actually made sense after looking closer?

Yeah that stuff really makes you stop and think, doesn't it? Feels like everyone could learn something from seeing how different places handle this kind of thing. Mad respect for keeping an open mind on it.
