Benchmark for disappointment? That's a high bar for a vacation mishap. The smell might fade if she stops romanticizing it.

Honestly, that corrosive vapor smell is a nightmare to get out. Tbh, I'd skip the fancy cleaners and try a mix of white vinegar and baking soda paste on any non-metal parts first. Let it sit for an hour before you wipe it down, and keep the windows open for a few days. The smell sticks to everything, even your clothes.
